We browse for you
Our small team goes through our inventory of over 8,000 titles. We cross-reference your tastes with recent arrivals, local small-press releases, and the odd out-of-print gem that wandered onto our shelves. This takes one to two business days.

Review or trust us
We send you a short list with a sentence about each pick. Swap any title you already own. Or skip this step entirely and let us choose blind. About 60% of our regulars prefer the surprise.

Unwrap and read
Your books arrive in a recycled-cardboard box with a handwritten note. Standard shipping across Quebec runs two to four days via Purolator. We include a return label in case a book truly isn't for you.

Midnight mysteries
Atmospheric crime fiction and psychological thrillers. We favour character-driven plots over shock value, so expect Tana French rather than airport page-turners. Three or four books per box depending on length.
Young readers (ages 4–10)
Picture books and early chapter books selected by reading level. Parents tell us their child's age and interests; we handle the rest. Each box includes a short reading guide with discussion prompts.
Curious minds
Popular science, narrative history, and long-form essays. Recent favourites include Ed Yong's sensory biology writing and Kate Brown's nuclear history. Two hardcovers per shipment, chosen to complement each other.
Common questions
Do you ship outside Quebec?
Yes. We ship anywhere in Canada through Purolator. Quebec orders typically arrive in two to four days. Ontario and the Maritimes take about five. Western provinces may need up to eight business days. Shipping costs are flat: $6.50 within Quebec, $11 elsewhere in Canada.
Can I request a specific title?
Absolutely. Mention it in your message and we will check stock. If we don't carry it, we can usually source it from a partner shop within a week. Special orders don't cost extra, though rare or out-of-print editions are priced individually.
What does a typical box cost?
Prices depend on the number and format of books. A two-paperback box runs around $38 before shipping. Hardcovers and illustrated editions cost more. We always confirm the total before charging, so there are no surprises at the door.
Are the books new or used?
Most are new. We do carry a curated selection of gently used copies, especially for older or out-of-print titles. Used books are always clearly marked, and we describe their condition honestly: a coffee ring on page 47 will be noted.
How do returns work?
Every box includes a prepaid return label. If a book isn't right, send it back within 14 days in the same condition you received it. We issue store credit or swap it for another title, your choice. We don't offer cash refunds on curated selections because the curation itself is part of the service.
Do you offer gift boxes?
We do. Tell us a bit about the recipient and we will pick books for them. Gift boxes come wrapped in kraft paper with a ribbon, and we can include a personal message card. Popular around the holidays, but available year-round.
